About Us

Straight Talk Speech Pathology helps children with speaking, listening, reading, writing and feeding.

Our Approach & Values

At Straight Talk Speech Pathology we love helping children! We believe everyone has the right to communicate – including children.

Right from the assessment we will try to get to know your child and your family. If speech therapy is recommended for your child we will target their goals in an individual style to suit each child and family. Parents are encouraged to be a part of the therapy journey. Our aim is to show you ways to support your child’s development so that they are receiving ‘therapy’ even when they are not with their therapist.

Therapy is usually based at one of our clinics, in Bibra Lake or Gosnells, but can also be arranged at your child’s school, child care centre or home.

Hello! I’m Esther

Principal Speech Pathologist

Esther Wilson is the Principal Speech Pathologist at Straight Talk Speech Pathology. She graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Speech and Hearing Science) and maintains membership with Speech Pathology Australia as a Certified Speech Pathologist. Esther began working with people with disabilities as a carer for the Cerebral Palsy Association whilst studying which led her into her first Speech Pathology position working in early intervention at Disability Services Commission. This gave Esther a great foundation for working with families to help their children with developmental delays to develop communication and mealtime skills.

Esther moved into private practice in 2012 where she continues to support families to help their children. In private practice she developed a special interest in literacy and loves to see children’s light bulb moments when they catch on to the reading and writing code. Esther loves children experiencing success with tricky things and learning while they play. Esther has worked with multiple schools consulting with teachers and helping develop programs to develop the language skills of kindergarten and pre-primary students. Esther maintains certification with Speech Pathology Australia by regular professional development. She has completed extra qualifications in Hanen It Takes Two To Talk, Lidcombe Stuttering Program, Key Word Sign and Sounds Write. As a busy mum herself, Esther understands the pressures of fitting children’s therapy and home practice into life, and tries really hard to make home practice practical, easy and fun! At home she is surrounded by energetic boys, dogs and chickens! She loves camping, diving and exploring the great Australian bush.
